Accounting Specialist

Role description

A growing industrial distribution company.

An experienced Accounting Specialist will join the team, combining accounting responsibilities with customer service and account management. The role involves working directly with customers regarding invoices, collections, and account inquiries.

• Manage Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, cash applications, and account reconciliation.
• Process Accounts Payable transactions and vendor payments.
• Generate and review customer invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Follow up with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment status.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing questions, discrepancies, and account concerns.
• Maintain accurate financial records within NetSuite.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Support management with accounting and administrative projects as needed.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

• 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AR/AP, or related experience.
• Strong NetSuite experience required.
• Experience with collections, invoicing, and customer account management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment is a plus.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience with financial reporting and account reconciliations.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
