The Automation Engineer - ATS designs, develops, and maintains scalable automated test systems to support continuous software delivery and system reliability. In this role, you will build automated frameworks that validate complex workflows, API interactions, and user-facing interfaces across distributed environments. Your work will directly increase release velocity and software quality by eliminating manual testing bottlenecks and catching defects early in the deployment lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and execution pipelines across multiple platforms.
- Integrate automated regression and integration test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
- Partner with product and software engineering teams to analyze system requirements and establish comprehensive test coverage strategies.
- Diagnose test failures, identify root causes in application code or infrastructure, and track defects through resolution.
- Develop and manage synthetic test data, mock services, and automated test environments.
- Establish automation benchmarks, maintain test reporting dashboards, and monitor execution metrics over time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of dedicated professional experience developing automated test frameworks from scratch.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with core automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or pytest.
- Strong practical knowledge of RESTful API testing, SQL database validation, and Git version control workflows.
- Direct experience configuring automated test jobs within CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Nice to Have
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for test infrastructure provisioning.
- Familiarity with performance and load testing frameworks such as k6, Locust, or JMeter.
- Background in cloud service platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience testing third-party enterprise integrations, webhooks, and data synchronization pipelines.
- Familiarity with test management and reporting tools such as TestRail, Allure, or Zephyr.
Requirements
- 4+ years professional experience in software QA/testing with hands-on automation testing
- practical experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications
- hands-on experience with at least one major automation framework (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent)
- programming/scripting proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or equivalent
- experience with API testing (REST endpoints, HTTP status codes, request/response payloads, authentication, headers, negative scenarios)
- experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
- experience with Git or equivalent version control systems
