Job Title: General Laborer Job Description Join a large-scale high-rise condominium construction project in Ossining, NY as a dependable and hardworking General Laborer. In this role, you support multiple trades, help maintain a safe and clean job site, and assist with a wide range of daily construction activities on a new construction development. Responsibilities Assist carpenters and other skilled tradespeople with a variety of tasks as needed on the construction site. Load, unload, and move construction materials safely and efficiently throughout the project area. Perform regular site clean-up, including debris removal, sweeping, and organizing work areas to maintain a clean and orderly job site. Operate basic hand and power tools safely in accordance with training and safety guidelines. Help with staging and organizing materials so that tradespeople have the supplies they need when they need them. Follow all job site safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company policies at all times. Work at elevated heights on a high-rise construction site when required, using appropriate fall protection and safety practices. Support concrete, assembly, packing, and general production tasks as directed by site supervision. Assist with loading, unloading, picking, and packaging of materials and equipment. Perform general mechanical and basic electrical support tasks within your skill level under supervision. Use a tape measure accurately for material measurement and layout tasks. Carry out other general labor duties as assigned by site supervision to support project progress. Essential Skills Minimum 2 years of construction or general labor experience. OSHA certification required (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred). Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Comfort working at heights on a high-rise construction site. Reliable transportation to and from the job site. Ability to bring and use basic hand tools and a tape measure. Capability to pass an on-site drug screening as required by job site policies. Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, reliability, and productivity. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow direction from site supervision. Experience using hand and power tools safely. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical tasks within a construction setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience on new construction or high-rise projects. Experience working on condominium or residential construction projects. Basic carpentry knowledge and the ability to support carpenters with framing and other tasks. Experience with concrete work, including handling materials and assisting with pours. Background in general production, assembly, packing, and packaging tasks. Experience with loading, unloading, and picking materials in a construction or warehouse environment. Familiarity with solar-related installation or material handling (nice to have). Forklift experience or certification is a plus where applicable. OSHA 30 certification is strongly preferred. Work Environment This role is based on an active high-rise condominium construction site in Ossining, NY, with work performed primarily outdoors and in partially finished structures. You can expect a fast-paced environment with changing conditions as the project progresses, including work at elevated heights and exposure to typical construction site elements such as noise, dust, and varying weather. You regularly use basic hand and power tools, handle concrete and construction materials, and support multiple trades in a coordinated team setting. Site policies strictly prohibit smoking, vaping, alcohol, and substance use on the job, and require adherence to all OSHA and site-specific safety regulations. Dress appropriately for a construction environment with sturdy work boots, durable work clothing, and any required personal protective equipment provided or approved by the site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
